Transform your Connected Products into Machine Customers

How many connected products do you have today? Did you know you can transform them into Machine Customers?

Now you can enable Machine Customer features in your DPS: automatically detect the need to replace a spare part, according to product use or condition, and trigger the ordering process.

In this way, customers can quickly buy the parts they need, when they need them, through a new, seamless purchase experience.

To support this experience, we have recently released Wear Metrics, Replacement Actions and the Store.

Wear Metrics

Monitoring the wear of your spare part is the first step to automate its provisioning.

Thanks to Wear Metrics, you can assess the level of wear of a spare part over the time. The wear level is a percentage value that starts at zero (the component is new) and increases day by day; and when it reaches 100%, it means it is time to replace the component.

A new set of widgets is available to effectivelydisplay the wear status of components and the suggested action

Replacement Actions

Replacement Actions trigger the replacement process of a component.

When the status of a component is TO REPLACE, clicking the Suggested Action link allows your customer to view the action detail popup, which includes the due date of the action, the technical description, and a shortcut to quickly add it to the shopping cart and complete the purchase.

By clicking the Mark as Done button, the widget will prompt the user to confirm that the parts have been purchased and the Replacement Action has indeed been performed.

Store

The Store includes the Spare Parts Catalog, the Cart and a section where your customer can review and monitor the progress of its orders.

When your customer places order suggested by the DPS, an order management flow takes place that includes several actors and steps, from order creation to delivery of the purchased products.

In any moment it is possible to monitor the status of orders

How to configure

To enable Machine Customer features, through the Console you associate the Wear Metric to one or more Spare Parts and Product Models. The same spare part can have different lifetimes depending on the product model in which it is installed.

When a Wear Metric is created, wear-based events for detecting the exceeding of the recommended usage and the maximum tolerated usage are also created.

In addition to the events, Replacement Actions are also created, which informs the user what to do.

When you configure a spare part, you specify theWear Metric and its standard usage and tolerance

All these news feature are available for the following module: SMART SPARE PARTS & CONSUMABLES
